Add a red card against goalkeeper Brad Guzan to the list of things that can and did go wrong for Atlanta United on Saturday night. Backup goalkeeper Josh Cohen entered the match and immediately saw a free kick from LAFC midfielder Mateusz Bogusz launch his outstretched hand and in the next to give the visiting team a 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute .

The team’s most recent U.S. Open Cup successes, including Cohen’s in the penalty shootout win over Charleston earlier this week, couldn’t hide the fact that something bit this team and will not let go.

Substitutions like Derrick Williams and Edwin Mosquera in the 72nd minute brought new legs on the pitch for Atlanta, but little else. Even eight minutes of added time would not be enough to end this winless streak.
