GENESEE COUNTY/Darien/Person is thrown from vehicle after accident with semi-trailer, then struck by another vehicle – Video News Service

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic crash involving a tractor-trailer and two motor vehicles. The crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 77 and McVean Roads in the Town of Darien.

The Genesee County emergency center received a 9-1-1 emergency call in which the personal
Accident with personal injuries at 19:14.

Upon arrival, patrol officers spotted a gray 2022 Subaru in the middle of the intersection. It was determined that there were three occupants in the vehicle. The first occupant was Brittany N. Smith, 30 years old
Macedon, NY. Smith was determined to be the driver of the vehicle and she was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for her injuries.

The second inmate was Kayleigh E. Williams, age 30, of Rochester, NY. Williams suffered serious injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Ambulance. The third and final occupant of the vehicle was Ariana P. Dupra, age 30, of Fairport, NY. Dupra was taken by Mercy Ambulance ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Currently, both Williams and Dupra are as
critical but in stable condition.

The tractor-trailer in question was a gray 2002 Peter that was operated by the sole occupant, Lynford E. Yoder, 37, of Sebringville, ON. Yoder suffered no injuries and was released at the scene.

The third and final vehicle involved was a gray 2018 Ford Escape with two passengers inside. The operator of the Escape was Brandon G. Schoener, 25, of Grand Island, NY. The passenger was identified
as Allyson A. Schoener, 23 years old, also of Grand Island, NY. None of the occupants sustained injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

The 2022 Subaru attempted to turn left onto State Route 77 from McVean Road. The tractor-trailer was traveling north on State Route 77 toward the village of Corfu.
The Subaru failed to yield and was struck by the semi-trailer. One of the Subaru’s occupants was ejected from the vehicle and struck by the passing Ford Escape, which was traveling south on State Route 77.

All three vehicles came to a stop at the intersection. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Genesee County Sheriff’s Office personnel.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Darien City Fire Department, Corfu Fire Department, Pembroke City Fire Department, East Pembroke Fire Department, Mercy EMS and Corfu Police Department.
