Family and friends gather to honor volleyball player killed in Buckhead nightclub shooting – WSB-TV Channel 2

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Family and friends of an Albany State volleyball player gathered Sunday afternoon to remember Mari Creighton.

She was one of two victims killed at a Buckhead nightclub over Mother’s Day weekend.

“We shouldn’t do this,” Sister Tiffany Eason said.

On Sunday, May 12, investigators were called to the Elleven45 nightclub after six people were shot. Creighton and Naykris Ridley died and four others were injured, including Creighton’s niece.

Dozens of people dressed in pink gathered in a Stockbridge neighborhood to release pink balloons in Creighton’s name, including one of the surviving shooting victims.

Those gathered also held a candlelight vigil.

So far, no suspects have been arrested or charged in connection with the shooting.

Meanwhile, family members remain heartbroken and confused about how a gunman could have gotten into the nightclub.
