DUI arrest after motorcyclist killed in Miami Shores crash – NBC 6 South Florida

A man is facing drunken driving charges after a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist Sunday morning in Miami Shores.

The accident occurred in the area of ​​North Miami Avenue and NW 108th Street.

Miami-Dade police said Carlos Humberto Fabian of North Bay Village was driving a Volkswagen Jetta north on North Miami Avenue approaching NE 10th Street when he left the roadway and turned into the southbound lanes .

He then allegedly collided with a Hyundai sedan and a motorcycle that were traveling in the southbound lanes, according to Miami-Dade police.

Police said the motorcyclist, identified as 36-year-old Bobby Jenkins, died at the scene, while a woman who was a passenger on his motorcycle was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition was brought.

Cameras filmed the damaged motorcycle at the scene while firefighters tried to break open the trunk of another car involved.

The emergency services also apparently placed a white sheet over a body.

A witness who was taking an Uber said the car came on the wrong side of the road and hit the back of the car he was in before spinning and hitting three other vehicles.

Fabian faces multiple drunk driving charges in connection with the fatal accident.
