Fatal stabbing investigation in Wilkes-Barre

Police are investigating a fatal knife attack in Wilkes-Barre.

At approximately 3:28 a.m. Tuesday morning, Wilkes-Barre City Police responded to a reported stabbing victim at a residence in the 300 block of S. River St.

The male victim was transported to the hospital. Details are limited, but police now believe this is a death investigation.

The original crime scene was located and secured pending further investigation and processing.

At the scene, FOX56 saw blood spatter in the area of ​​Academy St. and Carey Ave.

The Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, the Wilkes-Barre Police Detective Division and the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit are investigating.
