Six children were arrested when knives were found in Bulwell

Six children were arrested after police received calls about a group brandishing knives in a park.

Members of the public alerted officers to the group near Bulwell Bogs Park on Main Street just after 4pm BST on Saturday.

Shortly afterwards, six people aged between 12 and 14 were arrested and Nottinghamshire Police said two weapons were also seized.

Det Insp Julian Eminson-Ferry appealed for information.

He added: “This would have been alarming for the public and we hope our rapid response and six arrests will reassure them of how seriously we take all reports of knife crime.”
