The baby giraffe at the Minot Zoo apparently dies in an accident

(Minot, MN) – The Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot is mourning the loss of Jabari, one of its baby giraffes.

According to the zoo, the calf was found dead in its stable by a zookeeper on Saturday morning. Jabari reportedly caught his head on the cover of his hay feeder, panicked and broke his neck as he tried to break free.

Jabari was born at the zoo last August and staff say they are looking for ways to prevent something like this from happening again.
