A house fire in Wolverhampton has left two people dead and four in hospital

Two women have died and four people have been taken to hospital following a house fire in Wolverhampton.

Emergency services were called to a house in the Dunstall Hill area just before 2am BST.

Two women, aged in their early 20s, were confirmed dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

Two men, aged 19 and 22, who are said to be known to the women, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Three men and a woman are in hospital, the woman is in critical condition, police confirmed.

West Midlands Fire Service said another person was discharged at the scene by emergency services.

“Several firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property. “Unfortunately, the bodies of two people were found inside,” a spokesman said.

“The fire was confirmed to have been extinguished shortly before 3am.”

Officers are working to determine the cause of the fire and a cordon has been set up at the scene.
