McCamey man arrested after trying to escape on bike

MCCAMEY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Upton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a male suspect Wednesday morning after he attempted to elude officers on a bicycle.

The sheriff’s office said that on Wednesday, May 8, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white male who was riding a bicycle at East Seventh Street and McKinney Avenue. The suspect then attempted to elude officers, the incident ending in a foot pursuit at Seventh Street and Moore Street.

Thomas Arnold was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Arnold was charged with evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently being held at the Upton County Jail.
