Man shot in car outside Birmingham apartment complex identified

Birmingham police have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred late Friday night. The victim is 30-year-old Reco Stevenson of Birmingham. Police say the shooting occurred at the Mountainside Apartments in the 100 block of Penthouse Drive. That’s just a few blocks from Glen Iris Park. Officers on the scene told WVTM 13 they were called to the complex around 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found Stevenson in a car in the parking lot that had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and EMS personnel. Police believe the shooting was targeted. Due to heavy police presence, several residents were unable to enter their apartments. No suspect has been arrested.
