Fallen tree part of North Creek motorcycle accident

NORTH CREEK – A motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon in North Creek left the passenger dead and the driver in critical condition.

New York State Troopers responded around 4 p.m. Tuesday to a call for a report of a motorcycle accident on North Gore Road that left two people seriously injured.

Kathy L. Barlow-McCann, 68, of Chestertown, New York, was the passenger on the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to New York State Police Troop G Public Information Office Detective Stephanie O’Neil.

The investigation revealed that a tree had fallen onto the roadway and was struck by the motorcycle, ejecting both Barlow-McCann and the driver.

The motorcyclist was flown to Albany Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, state police reported Thursday. The investigation is ongoing.

State Police said the motorcyclist’s name is not being released at this time.
