A Jefferson County Jail employee is accused of sexually abusing a child

Nebraska State Patrol investigators have arrested two people in connection with the sexual assault of a child in Jefferson County, according to a news release.

The State Patrol began investigating in April after receiving a report a sexual assault on a childsaid State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas.

Brandon Myers, 40, and his wife Bobbi Myers, 44, both of Fairbury, were arrested.

Brandon Myers got arrested May 2 on suspicion of third-degree assault, child abuse and third-degree sexual assault of a child. He has been submitted at the Thayer County Jail.

Bobbi Myers got arrested on Monday on suspicion of child abuse and failure to report child abuse. She has been submitted in the Jefferson County Jail.

According to the news release, Brandon Myers was an employee at the Jefferson County Jail.

The State Patrol said its investigation is ongoing.
