Murder in Clayton County | Police investigate death of teenager

18-year-old Richard Lee Jackson Jr. was found shot to death on the side of the road.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. – Clayton County Police are asking the public for help in gathering information in the murder of 18-year-old Richard Lee Jackson Jr.

Jackson was killed on Thursday, July 18, according to a CCPD news release. Officers arrived in the area of ​​Warrington Place and Crystal Lake Road, where they found Jackson lying face down on a patch of grass next to the road. They checked him over and found he had been shot multiple times and was dead.

Local detectives determined that Jackson traveled by bus from Decatur to Clayton County, but did not know why.

Whistleblowers can remain anonymous and the tip may result in a reward of up to $2,000 to the person who provided information needed to solve the case.
