Houston Rockets vs. Washington Wizards Summer League game preview: Start time, how to watch, TV

After an impressive first-round win over Bronny James, Dalton Knecht and the Los Angeles Lakers, the Houston Rockets turn their attention to Alexandre Sarr and the Washington Wizards in the Summer League.

I know Rafael Stone said Reed Sheppard was at the top of Houston’s draft board, but teams always say things like that about their picks. Houston management was probably interested in Sarr, who is a 7-foot-4 raw talent with a ton of potential. The Wizards are still firmly in a rebuild, except in the East, you always have a chance to make a push.

Sheppard was phenomenal in Game 1 and Cam Whitmore did exactly what was expected of him. I don’t know how long Stone and Ime Udoka want to see these two play against lesser opponents, but with both expected to be in the rotation, I expect them to be sidelined or put on a limited minutes policy soon. The Rockets are already set on their total number of players, so they’d probably like to give the rest of the SL roster a chance to show off in front of the GMs and coaches.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT on ESPN2
