Buffalo Police: 2 dead after stabbing and fire overnight

These incidents may be related because the two dead people knew each other, according to a Buffalo police spokesman.

BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo Police responded to a 911 call about a stabbing around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the 700 block of Ashland Avenue.

A 24-year-old woman died from cuts and stab wounds, according to a Buffalo police spokesman.

Then, just before 4 a.m., the Buffalo Fire Department responded to 62 Dash Street.

A 24-year-old man who lived in the home was found dead in a first-floor bedroom, fire officials said.

They added that the damage is estimated at $150,000.

According to the spokesman, there could be a connection between the incidents, as the two victims knew each other.

Erie County medical examiners will perform autopsies to determine the cause of death. Fire inspectors and homicide investigators are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
