First Alert Weather: The weather calms down and finally clears up

Our yellow warning is over. Wednesday’s wild weather is over at this point, but not without leaving its mark! The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a record number of tornado warnings not just for a single day, but for an entire year! The result was at least two confirmed tornadoes south of Buffalo. There were no confirmed tornadoes locally, but we had over a dozen reports of damage from thunderstorm winds.

We’ve got tropical air and some lingering showers and downpours overnight and Thursday morning before gradually clearing up in the afternoon. We’re ending the work week feeling good, with more sunshine and warmer air again. The weekend is looking pretty good too, with dry weather and warm air on Saturday, followed by more warmth on Sunday and Monday. A few showers will creep back in starting Monday or Tuesday as our next cold front approaches. This will likely bring some storms to the area mid-next week, followed by a round of refreshing and cooler air late next week.
