Weather alert day: 2 rounds of storms

Weather alert day: 2 rounds of storms

IN ORDER. 515 RIGHT NOW, so obviously we’ve seen this system spread throughout the United States. It has devastated some communities, but we are seeing some change. YES. So let’s take a look at that. It’s about a big old wall from north to south. RIGHT. And I mean, there are active tornadoes in areas of Missouri right now, moving toward Saint Louis. NOW THIS LINE IS MOVING OUR PATH, BUT IT WILL BE DRAMATICALLY WEAKENED UNTIL IT GET HERE. THIS FIRST LINE IS THE ONE THAT COMES HERE AT LUNCH TIME. THERE IS ACTUALLY A SECONDARY LINE THAT COULD BRING US THE MAJOR THREAT FOR STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS. WHEN WE GET INTO THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. YOU CAN SEE THIS IS NOW TAKING ITS WAY THROUGH MISSOURI. IT WILL ROLL AND WEAK THROUGH ILLINOIS AND INDIANA. And there will be some rain by the time it gets to us around midday. THERE COULD BE SOME THUNDER AND LIGHTNING, BUT THE MAJOR Danger of Severe Weather Actually Remains Until Late Afternoon and Evening. AND THAT IS THE REASON OUR FIELD WAS BUILT ON AN EXPANDED RISK AREA. IT’S THE ORANGE YOU SEE ON THE MAP, THREE OUT OF FIVE. As for the potential for strong to severe storms. And as we zoom in, you can see that it contains the entire WLWT viewing area. AND WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR LARGE HAIL IN OUR REGION TODAY AND ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF SEEING TORNADOES. YOU CAN SEE IT ALL IN OUR FORECAST, ESPECIALLY FOR THE SECOND ROUND TONIGHT. So TODAY IS a weather warning day. So let’s talk about how this will play out for you today. ROUND NUMBER 1:10 TO 2:00 PM, THAT’S A BIG BIG AREA. I WOULD SAY 12:00 TO TWO IS PROBABLY A LITTLE MORE LIKELY. But this is the weakening line of the storms. I would expect some thunder and lightning, but the risk of severe weather here is very low. IT’S LIKELY TO BE JUST A FULL RAIN AND A FEW STORMS PASSING THROUGH AROUND NOON. THEN IT’S BREAK. Note that the time frame is between 2 and 4:00. OUR ATMOSPHERE IS BECOMING STRONGER. WE WILL REACH ALMOST 80 DEGREES TODAY. It will be very humid. AFTER 4 p.m. we will experience renewed development of showers and thunderstorms. AND THIS SECONDARY THREAT GOES FROM 4:00 PM TO 11:00 PM. However, if I had to narrow it down even more specifically for you, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. would probably be the most likely time period for the strong storms to hit our area. AND AS TO SEVERE WEATHER THREATS, THEY ARE ALL IN PLAY FOR US TODAY. LARGE HAIL, DAMAGING WIND, TORNADOES AND WITH REPEATED ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN REPEATED TODAY AND TOMORROW NIGHT, WE COULD FLOOD SOME AREAS AT SOMETIME. Here’s today’s futurecast to guide you through tomorrow. We’ll have a little fog, but we’ll see a little sunshine. AND TODAY AT LUNCH TIME THE RAIN LINE COMES HERE. So it’s approaching us from the west and quickly weakening as it crosses into Ohio. So rain, a few good downpours, maybe a little thunder and lightning. BUT IT’S NOT LIKE THAT RIGHT NOW, IS IT? BY THE TIME IT REACHES US IT WILL BE IN A WEAKENED CONDITION. QUICKLY TO THE EAST. AND HERE IS OUR WINDOW WHERE WE STRENGTHEN THE ATMOSPHERE AND PREPARE FOR THE STRONGER STORMS. FROM AROUND 6:00 PM YOU CAN SEE THE FUTURE CAST HERE, WHICH WILL BE BETWEEN 6:00 PM AND 10 OR 11:00 PM TONIGHT. A series of stronger storms is coming with the potential to produce damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail. Now it’s getting out of here pretty quickly. In fact, most cities will be free by 11pm or midnight and you can sleep well tonight. So your 12 hour forecast looks like this. THIS MORNING WE ARE STARTING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 60’S, QUICKLY Climbing TO THE 70’S LATE NOON IN THE MORNING. We have the potential for rain and a few rumbles of thunder, but it is the late afternoon and evening where we have the weather warning symbol indicating the greater risk of strong to severe storms. So today’s high is 79. Storms occur in two rounds. The most significant severe weather threat is late afternoon. AND EVENING. The seven-day forecast shows that we will have a day with weather influences tomorrow. Most of your Wednesday will be completely dry. We’re actually making it to about 83 degrees, but there’s a strong overnight front that could bring heavy rain or strong, strong storms to our area. THIS SOMETHING IS SOMETHING CONDITIONAL. So we’ll take a close look at this from Wednesday evening through Thursday. BUT WITH MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND OUR TEMPERATURES ARE DROPPING TO HIGHS IN THE 60’S. Therefore, the evening route is likely to be affected by storms. What is the morning commute like? KATIE. Yes, the commute is going well this morning, but you’ll want to plan ahead for tonight’s commute. 275 ON PLANE
