Chase with motorcycles and Michigan State Police ends with arrest in Hamtramck

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – A motorcyclist was arrested after leading Michigan State Police on a high-speed chase.

The chase occurred on Monday (July 8) after a Metro South Police sergeant had just stopped on I-96 when the motorcycle passed by at a high rate of speed.

A second patrol officer was requested, who followed the motorcycle to West Grand Boulevard, where the sergeant attempted to make a traffic stop.

The driver, who had a female passenger in the back seat of his motorcycle who was seen in the video, continued driving under the observation of the second patrol car until he stopped at the corner of Andrus Street and Joseph Campau Avenue in Hamtramck.

The driver let the woman drive away and continued to drive at high speed until the sergeant arrested him.
