Manitowoc man arrested and charged with attempted murder

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WBAY) – A man is accused of stabbing a woman to death in Two Rivers Township last week.

On July 4, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Two Rivers Fire Department and Mishicot Emergency Medical Services, were dispatched to an address in the Township of Two Rivers for a stabbing of a woman.

When officers and emergency services arrived, they found two people on the property with obvious stab wounds.

The sheriff’s office said a 51-year-old woman was found in the backyard of the property with numerous stab wounds and other injuries. A 62-year-old man, identified as Calvin C. Eis, was found inside the home with a stab wound to the abdomen, which the sheriff’s office later determined was self-inflicted.

Both people were taken to hospital.

Calvin Eis was arrested and booked into the Manitowoc County Jail and faces the following charges: Attempted Murder/Domestic Violence, Domestic Violence by Great Bodily Injury, Domestic Violence by Strangulation/Suffocation, and Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office said Calvin Eis appeared for his bail hearing, where bail was set at $500,000.
