38-year-old man dead after shooting in Bartlesville | News

BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma – Bartlesville police say a 38-year-old man is dead following a shooting Monday morning.

Neighbors told FOX23 they saw someone run from a duplex near West Hensley Boulevard and South Morton Avenue toward the alley and then collapse. Alexander Daugherty was found with a gunshot wound when police arrived.

Police received a call at 12:50 a.m. reporting a gunshot in the area.

Officers began life-saving measures before paramedics arrived and Daugherty was taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.

“It appears to be some sort of conflict over drugs or money at this point, so we’re still trying to sort that all out,” said Bartlesville Deputy Police Chief Andrew Ward.

Ward said it was an isolated incident. Investigators found a bullet casing at the crime scene.

“There are several witnesses that we are still trying to identify. There are several people and persons of interest. I guess you could say we need to reach out to them,” Ward said.

People at a nearby business told FOX23 they gave police surveillance video in hopes it would lead to an arrest.

“It’s very rare to have something like this in the city of Bartlesville,” Ward said.

According to police, Thomas Conway is a person of interest following the investigation.
