Upcoming events at Buffalo Convention Center to have $7 million economic impact

The summer events are expected to attract thousands of visitors and boost the local economy.

The Buffalo Convention Center has been getting a lot of attention lately, drawing thousands of visitors to Buffalo and Erie County.

The Buffalo Convention Center has already booked four conferences and conventions for this summer. These events are expected to attract more than 15,000 visitors in total.

“Business is booming and thousands of visitors are enjoying not only top-quality conferences, but all that Buffalo and Erie County have to offer,” said Mark C. Poloncarz, Erie County Executive Officer.

Last October, the convention center have completed their $6 million renovations with improvements to the interior and exterior of the building. Poloncarz said those improvements have helped the center stay competitive with similar markets like Cleveland, Pittsburgh and New Harford when booking events.

For 2025-2026, more than 20 conventions are booked, 22,000 participants expected and an economic impact of nearly $30 million according to Poloncarz.

Some of the upcoming events include:

  • College and University Planning Society – Atlantic Regional Conference
  • Break the Floor Productions – JUMP Dance Convention
  • National College Testing Association Annual Conference
  • New York School Nutrition Association Annual Conference
  • World Channel Conference
  • American Association for Aerosol Research
