Driver arrested after fatal hit-and-run accident in Denver

A driver who Denver police say struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday night has been arrested.

The pedestrian, a woman whose identity is not publicly known, was struck near Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue, according to Denver police.

The timing of the incident was not immediately clear and Denver police did not respond to a request for further information on the circumstances of the accident.

The driver is being held on charges of negligent homicide and hit-and-run, police said. They did not release the driver’s identity or age.
