OKC officer charged with sexual assault and kidnapping

A LOT. RIGHT NOW, SOMETHING IS BREAKING OUT OF OKLAHOMA CITY: A POLICE OFFICER HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND RAPE, AS WELL AS ASSASSINATION WITH A VIOLENT ACT. AND JUSTIN IS ONLY FIVE. POLICE OFFICER RYAN STARK APPEARED IN COURT A RECENT MOMENTS AGO. KOCO ALEX JONES IS LIVE IN MCLEAN COUNTY. ELISE, WE KNOW THAT A LOT OF NEW DETAILS ARE COMING UP ON THIS, AND IN FACT, I RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM THE PRISON A FEW SECONDS AGO THAT RYAN STARK POSTED BAIL IN THE COURTROOM A FEW MINUTES AGO WHERE THE JUDGE SET HIS BAIL AT $200,000. HE POSTED THAT. AND AGAIN, HE IS FACING A LONG LIST OF CHARGES INCLUDING BOTH SEXUAL AND PHYSICAL ASSAULT. OFFICER RYAN STARK HAS BEHIND BARS SINCE SATURDAY. STARK WAS ARRESTED BY POLICE IN BLANCHARD BUT WAS TRANSFERRED TO GRADY COUNTY FOR PROTECTION. NOW HE FACED A JUDGE FOR THE FIRST TIME. KOCO OBTAINED THIS PROBABLE CAUSE AFFIDATE OVER THE WEEKEND, DETAILING STARK’S ALLEGED PHYSICAL AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF A WOMAN, THE AFFIDATE SAYS. STARK DROVE THE WOMAN TO HIS HOUSE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT. BUT SHE SAID SHE DIDN’T WANT TO GO THERE. THE DOCUMENT CLAIMS STARK RINGED THE VICTIM’S PHONE AND SHE TRIED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR, BUT HE SPEEDED UP AND SMASHED HER FOOT INTO THE GARAGE. THE VICTIM TOLD POLICE STARK HELD HER AGAINST HER WILL, CHOKED HER AND SPAT ON HER, EVEN THREATENED TO KILL HER AND HELD HER AT GUNPOINT. THE VICTIM TOLD POLICE STARK THEN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HER. STARK MADE NATIONAL HEADLINES A DECADE AGO AFTER HIS CLIENT’S DOG WAS KILLED BY A SUSPECT AND HE SHOT AND KILLED THAT SUSPECT. HE WAS ACQUIRED OF ANY WRONGFUL CONDUCT IN THAT CASE. WE TALKED TO OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE OVER THE WEEKEND, AND TODAY THEY HAVE MADE NO COMMENT, DESCRIBING THAT THIS WAS NOT THEIR INVESTIGATION. BUT THEY CONFIRMED THAT STARK IS NOW ENTITLED TO BAIL. IN THE COURTROOM TODAY, ONE OF THE RULES OF STARK’S BAIL IS THAT HE MUST NOT HAVE ANY WEAPONS. AND HE ALSO MUST NOT HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH THE VICTIM WHO IS LIVE REPORTING THE INCIDENT.

The judge entered a not guilty plea on Stark’s behalf. Stark posted bail just minutes after he appeared before the judge. Stark was charged with five counts including kidnapping, domestic violence and assault by strangulation, domestic violence and assault with a dangerous weapon, first degree rape by force or fear and threatening to commit a violent act. She said he threatened to kill her and held her at gunpoint.The victim told police Stark then sexually assaulted her.On Saturday, the victim was granted a restraining order against Stark, according to court records.Stark made national headlines a decade ago after his K-9 was killed by a suspect and Stark then shot him. He was later cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting of the man.KOCO 5 reached out to Oklahoma City police, but they declined comment over the weekend and said Monday it was not their investigation. Authorities have confirmed Stark is on leave. KOCO 5 has reached out to Blanchard police multiple times, as they are the lead agency in this case, but they have not responded. Stark’s next court date is set for July 24 in McClain County. When Stark appeared before a judge on Saturday after his arrest on a long list of complaints, his bail was set at $200,000. He was ordered to surrender any weapons he owns and to have no contact with the victim.

The judge entered a not guilty plea in Stark’s favor.

Just minutes after appearing before the judge, Stark posted bail.

Stark was charged with five counts, including kidnapping, domestic violence and assault by strangulation, domestic violence and assault with a dangerous weapon, first-degree rape by force or intimidation, and threatening to commit an act of violence.

Stark was arrested by police in Blanchard, but was transferred from the McClain County Jail to the Grady County Jail for his protection.

KOCO obtained a probable cause affidavit over the weekend detailing Stark’s alleged physical and sexual abuse of the woman.

The affidavit states that Stark drove the woman to his house with his police unit, but she said she did not want to go there.

The document alleges that Stark took the victim’s phone and she tried to get out of the car, but he accelerated and kicked her into the garage.

The victim told police that Stark held her against her will, choked her, and spat on her. She said he threatened to kill her and held her at gunpoint.

The victim told police that Stark then sexually abused her.

According to court documents, the victim was granted a restraining order against Stark on Saturday.

Stark made national headlines a decade ago after his tracking dog was killed by a suspect, whom Stark subsequently shot. He was later acquitted of any wrongdoing in the man’s shooting.

KOCO 5 reached out to Oklahoma City police, but they declined to comment over the weekend and said Monday that the investigation was outside their jurisdiction. Officials did confirm, however, that Stark is on leave.

KOCO 5 has reached out to Blanchard Police multiple times, as they are the lead investigators on this case, but there has been no response.

Stark’s next court date is scheduled for July 24 in McClain County.
