Fatal multi-vehicle accident on Highway 60 in Pomona

POMONA, CA (July 1, 2024) – One person died and two others were hospitalized after a multi-car crash on the 60 Freeway near Lemon Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fatal accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning. For unknown reasons, a Tesla and a Honda collided in an unknown manner. California Highway Patrol officers then responded and found a person in the roadway who had been ejected from one of the cars. In addition, officers discovered an overturned vehicle near the left shoulder.

Passers-by did not hesitate to perform resuscitation measures and help the rescue workers to rescue the victims from the wreckage. After using the rescue shears, the fire brigade paramedics freed at least one person.

Tragically, one of the three victims died. Two of them had to be taken to hospital in unknown conditions.

At the time of the report, traffic investigators had not yet released any information about the cause of the accident, which closed the eastbound 60 Freeway except for one lane.
