TikTok has suspended the livestream of the Reform UK rally “due to a moderation error”

TikTok interrupted the live stream of a Reform UK rally for about half an hour on Sunday, the social media platform confirmed.

The “temporary blocking” of the stream on Reform UK chairman Nigel Farage’s account was due to a “moderation error,” a spokesperson for the website said.

His access to TikTok’s “Live” feature has now been restored.

Mr Farage, along with other members of the party, spoke to thousands of supporters of the Reform UK movement at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on Sunday afternoon.

People complained that the live stream was interrupted when Reform UK politician Ann Widdecombe spoke to the crowd.

In her speech, the former Brexit Party MEP and Conservative MP said Mr Farage’s party would “bring common sense back to Britain” and “get rid of the woke phenomenon”.

She told thousands of supporters of the reform: “Above all, we stand for two words: common sense.”

After accusing the Tories of having “all their eggs in the Rwanda basket” and no plan B, Ms Widdecombe said there was no reason why Reform UK should not form the official opposition after Thursday’s election.

“These next four days are crucial,” she said, adding that she had “heard more common sense” in the last five years than in her previous 55 years in the Conservative Party.

A TikTok spokesperson said: “Nigel Farage has had his access to Live restored after a temporary suspension (less than 30 minutes) due to a moderation error.

“More than 40,000 people are working to keep TikTok safe using technology, including dedicated teams and detection models to moderate lives in real time.

“We continue to invest heavily in training technology and human moderators to detect, review and remove harmful content.”
