1 dead after shooting in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Florida. – One person died in a shooting Wednesday night in Pompano Beach.

The fatal shooting occurred around 7:15 p.m. along Northwest Sixth Street between Northwest 27 and 24 avenues. Officers from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Department responded.

According to Gerdy St. Louis, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders found “a male patient” who had been shot and took him to “a local hospital” where a doctor pronounced him dead.

Homicide detectives investigated the killing. Investigators asked anyone with information on this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
