Albany man arrested after motorcycle chase

COLONIE, NY (NEWS10) — State police arrested an Albany man Saturday after a motorcycle chase. Shamel Beavers, 29, faces multiple charges in connection with the incident.

According to police, they saw a motorcycle speeding on the Northway in Colonie near Exit 4 around 7:58 p.m. on Saturday. When they tried to stop the motorcycle, the driver allegedly disobeyed, and a pursuit was initiated.


According to police, a motorcycle accident occurred during the chase. Beavers was arrested and allegedly had an illegal bladed weapon with him.

Beavers was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was released and given a summons to appear in Colonie Town Court on July 24.
