Woman found dead in Intracoastal; body placed on Sunny Isles Beach police boat

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Florida. – Miami-Dade police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in the Intracoastal Waterway.

The body was discovered Monday morning near the 400 block of Sunny Isles Boulevard.

Shortly after 10 a.m., Sky 10 was seen over the crime scene as the victim’s body was hidden under a yellow tarp in the back of a Sunny Isles Beach police boat.

Since the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department does not have a homicide unit, the Miami-Dade Police Department has taken over the investigation.

An MDPD spokesperson said they are currently investigating the case as an “unclassified death.” The spokesperson said it is currently unclear if foul play was involved.
