Detectives investigate murder in West Seattle

Seattle Police detectives are investigating a homicide in West Seattle Saturday morning.

At 3:51 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired in the 1000 block of Harbor Avenue Southwest.

Police found an adult male lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department arrived and pronounced the victim dead.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are currently under investigation. Several suspects fled the scene and have not yet been found.

A nearby residence was hit by gunfire, but no one was injured. Another victim in Renton was found with a gunshot wound and taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

Officers cordoned off the area until homicide and crime scene investigators arrived and examined the crime scene.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the homicide squad.
