Man from Minot threatens police and neighbors with gun

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A Minot man was arrested for threatening his neighbors and police and attempting to flee during his arrest.

On Tuesday evening, police received a report that they had been threatened with a firearm by 21-year-old Matthew Richards.

Police said they approached him at his home as he fled on foot. He was later found in a nearby backyard.

During his arrest, Richards pulled out a gun and threatened officers. He was disarmed and taken into custody, where he faces several charges.
