A man dies in a stabbing at a bodega in Rego Park and Queens; Employees questioned by police

REGO PARK, Queens (WABC) — A man was fatally stabbed at a bodega in Queens early Tuesday morning.

According to officers, chaos ensued around 12:30 p.m. when a possible argument broke out over beer.

The victim, a customer in his 20s or 30s, was stabbed in the chest and pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Kristin Thorne has the results of a 7 On Your Side investigation.

“We went to the bodega on the corner and saw him on the ground, so everything stopped. We called 911, examined him and tried to help him,” said an eyewitness.

Authorities said no charges were immediately filed, but a bodega employee was interviewed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police. The investigation is ongoing.
