Tulsa man arrested in Tulsa shooting; teen victim seriously injured

An 18-year-old is in critical condition in the hospital after someone shot him overnight in Tulsa, police said.

Aidan Perez was arrested by Tulsa police on Monday morning and taken to jail. Perez faces a charge of intent to kill.

The shooting happened after 11 p.m. Sunday along West 42nd Avenue between Highway 412 and Charles Page Boulevard, police said. Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked the incident, but said people nearby reported hearing gunshots. When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim in the street with four gunshot wounds.

“Officers have learned that there was some kind of disturbance here that resulted in a shooting,” said Captain Matt Arnold of the Tulsa Police Department. “There are several witnesses on scene that officers are interviewing.”

Police arrested Perez and another person after tracking them down near West 4th Street and West 42nd Avenue. It is not clear what connection the suspect had to the victim.
