Michael Harris leaves game with hamstring strain

Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris left Friday’s game with an apparent leg injury after going from first to third on a first-inning double by Ozzie Albies. Harris seemed to grimace between the second and third.

Like most Atlanta hitters, it was a rough start to the season for Harris at the plate, but he has shown signs of recovery in recent days. Harris extended his hitting streak to five straight games with a single in the top of the first inning. He advanced to third on a double from Ozzie Albies, which is when the injury appeared to occur.

JP Martinez replaced Harris in the lineup. Atlanta has already lost Ronald Acuña Jr. to a season-ending injury in its outfield. Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall saw most of the playing time in the corners following Acuña’s injury. Atlanta currently only has four outfielders on its active roster, but they also have Brian Anderson who has made a few starts in right field.

UPDATE – The Braves announced that Harris left the game due to left hamstring tightness.
