Drishyam actor Koottickal Jayachandran arrested for sexually abusing a minor

The Kerala Police have booked Malayalam actor and impersonator Koottickal Jayachandran under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offense (POCSO) Act for sexually abusing a four-year-old girl. The case was registered at Kasaba police station in Kozhikode after the child’s mother filed a complaint.

The mother also alleged that Jayachandran used an ongoing family dispute as an excuse to attack the child. According to various reports, the police visited the child’s residence and recorded her statement under the guidance of the District Child Protection Unit. However, further details of the case have not been released yet.

Jayachandran is known to Malaysian audiences in films, stage programmes and television. His most recent role in the hugely successful thriller Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph Drishyam made him popular. It is currently unclear whether Jayachandran was arrested.
