TRAFFIC ALERT: One person dies, one injured after accident at Loop 375 and South Zaragoza

UPDATE: El Paso Police Department special traffic investigators are responding to a crash in the Lower Valley.

Police confirmed that one person died as a result of the car crash and another was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Southbound Americas Avenue is closed to traffic near Zaragoza while police investigate the accident.

TxDOT reports that traffic is being diverted at the turnaround point and access to the Zaragoza Port of Entry is currently unaffected.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – According to El Paso Police, all lanes at the intersection of Americas South and Zaragoza were closed after a crash.

It happened on Sunday before 1 p.m.

According to the El Paso Fire Department, two people were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The police ask drivers to observe the diversion.
