1 dead, 4 injured in shooting in Compton

COMPTON, Calif. – One person was killed and four others injured in a shooting in Compton Friday night.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Mayo Avenue and Greenleaf Boulevard around 7:45 p.m.

The reason for the shooting was unclear and the investigation was still ongoing Friday evening. The injured victims were taken to a hospital, the Compton Fire Department said.

The extent of her injuries and her condition were unknown.
