Driver attacked by stranger during attempted robbery in central Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for a man who attacked a person in a parked car in downtown Lincoln last month.

On April 18 around 11 p.m., the victim arrived at his friend’s house near 12th and D streets when a man jumped into his vehicle.

The man told the victim he had a gun and to run. According to police, he then hit the victim 20 times in the head.

The victim fought back and freed the man from his vehicle before he drove away, police said.

Investigators said the attacker was an Asian man, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and possibly in his late 30s or early 40s.

Police are also looking for a woman who tried to get prescription medication from a CVS in southeast Lincoln.

On March 29, the woman dropped off a prescription at the CVS near 56th Street and Nebraska Parkway.

The staff called the prescriber, who said he never filled the prescription.

When the woman returned to CVS, her prescription was denied and she left the store, police said.

Anyone with information about any of the cases is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
