61-year-old man dies in Arcadia rollover crash on Hillsborough Avenue

A 61-year-old man is dead after driving his pickup truck into a ditch in Arcadia Thursday afternoon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pickup was traveling south on SE Hillsborough Avenue toward Hibiscus Drive. At around 1:53 p.m., the truck reportedly left the road and struck a mailbox before being able to get back on the road. The vehicle then entered a ditch and overturned, ejecting the driver. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash scene caused a complete road closure on SE Granada Drive at Hillsborough Avenue. The crash remains under investigation by the FHP. A 61-year-old man died in Arcadia on Thursday afternoon after driving his pickup truck into a ditch.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling south on SE Hillsborough Avenue toward Hibiscus Drive.

At around 1:53 p.m., the truck reportedly left the road and struck a mailbox before getting back on the road. The vehicle then drove into a ditch and overturned, ejecting the driver.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The incident resulted in a complete road closure on SE Granada Drive at Hillsborough Avenue.

The crash remains under investigation by the FHP.
