Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted three people on the same hiking trail in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police said the suspect approached the female victim from behind shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Friday (May 31) as she was walking on the Applewood Hills Greenbelt Trail.

Authorities have not said whether the victim was a woman, a teenager or a younger child.

The suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing, police said.

Fortunately, the victim suffered no physical injuries.

Officers confirmed that the suspect and the victim did not know each other.

In addition, the suspect is said to be responsible for two more sexual assaults on the same route in 2023.

Although the suspect is wanted on three counts of sexual assault, authorities believe there may be more victims and are urging people in the area to remain vigilant.
