1 man killed, dozens injured in overnight shooting in Ohio – KIRO 7 News Seattle

AKRON, Ohio – Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and several injured early Sunday morning in Akron, Ohio.

Akron Police officers were called to an area in Akron near Kelly Avenue and 8th Avenue just after midnight, WOIO reported. Several people called 911 after shots were fired, striking several people.

WEWS reported that officers found dozens of bullet casings and a firearm at the scene.

Captain Michael Miller, spokesman for the Akron Police Department, said there were 25 victims in total, including one person killed, the Associated Press reported.

Several victims were taken to the hospital. Some were in critical condition and others suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Miller said, according to AP.

According to WEWS, police said there was a street party going on at the time of the shooting.

According to AP, police did not release any information about any arrests.

The identity of the victim was not disclosed.
