Dehradun: A special court under the Pocso Act in Dehradun has sentenced a man (40) to 20 years of imprisonment for abducting and raping a schoolgirl (then 17) in 2022. Imran, a resident of Mathura, who was found guilty under relevant sections of the IPC and the Pocso Act, was also fined Rs 10,000. The survivor in her statement to the police stated that she had known the convict for four years. Initially, the accused concealed his identity and claimed to be unmarried.
