The man shot dead during an attempted theft of a catalytic converter in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday has been identified as actor Johnny Wactor, according to a report.

Wactor, 37, appeared in 164 episodes of the popular soap opera General Hospital as Brando Corbin between 2020 and 2022. He has also appeared in other series such as Westworld and Criminal Minds.


His death was first reported by TMZ.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers arrived in the area of ​​Pico Boulevard and Hope Street around 3:25 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to the police report, the man saw three men stealing the catalytic converter from his vehicle. When he confronted them, they turned around and shot him.

The man, now identified as Wactor, died at a local hospital. The suspects have not yet been found, police said.
