Video: Father-son duo from Hamas casually describes how they took turns raping and then killing an Israeli woman

A recently released video is making the rounds on the Internet in which a Hamas member and his teenage son casually tell interrogators how they took turns raping and then killing an Israeli woman.

Jamal Hussein Ahmad Radi, 47, and his son Abdallah, 18, were arrested by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip and later questioned about the October 7 rampage in southern Israel. Jamal, who was among the masterminds of the deadly attack, described finding a woman “screaming” and “crying” in a house in Kibbutz Nir Oz, a community near the Gaza border. “I did what I did, I raped her,” he was quoted as saying by The Daily Post.

“I threatened her with my gun to take off her clothes. I remember she was wearing denim shorts, that was all,” he added. The 47-year-old Hamas member claimed he did not know what happened to the woman after the rape, but his teenage son told the interrogator that his father killed the desperate victim. “My father raped her, then I did, and then my cousin, and then we left, but my father killed the woman after we finished raping her,” Abdallah said during an interview.

The chilling videos of the father-son duo went viral on social media after Israeli television on Wednesday aired previously withheld footage showing five pajama-clad female conscripts being captured by Hamas militants during the raid on October 7. The captives’ families hoped the footage would increase pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree to a ceasefire with Hamas and secure the release of the hostages.

The Netanyahu government saw the release of the subtitled three-minute clip in the national and international media as an opportunity to gain support. Hamas defended the behavior of its fighters and called the video an attempt to manipulate public opinion. “These girls are still in Hamas captivity. Please do not look away,” Israeli government spokesman David Mencer told reporters.

“Watch the film. Support Israel in bringing our people home.” The footage shows the young women, all dazed and some covered in blood, being tied up and dragged into a jeep. “I have friends in Palestine,” one of the recruits, 19-year-old Naama Levy, pleads in English. One of the gunmen can be heard shouting back in Arabic: “You are dogs! We will trample on you, dogs!” Another gunman tells a prisoner: “You are beautiful.”

The footage was of Hamas militias storming the Nahal Oz military base, part of a larger attack by the militant group on southern Israel that killed around 1,200 people and took about 250 hostage. Israel has released similar photos and videos of the October 7 rampage to bolster support for the ongoing war in Gaza. The Israeli offensive on Gaza, launched in response to the Hamas attack, has killed around 35,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
