2 charged with child neglect after state police investigation in Sullivan County – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana traffic

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WISH) — Two people were arrested in Sullivan County after being accused of child neglect, according to Indiana State Police.

Katelynn, 29, and Rai Stranger, 33, were taken into custody Thursday.

State police began their investigation March 25 after the Sullivan County Department of Child Services notified them of a case of child neglect involving strangers.

Investigators soon concluded that the strangers were not providing adequate care to the youth they were monitoring. The police did not provide any information about the duration of the abuse or what relationship the child had with the strangers.

The strangers were then arrested and taken to the Sullivan County Jail on $8,000 bail. They were not listed as inmates Saturday.

Both are felony counts of neglect of a dependent. Court dates have not yet been set.
