Arnold woman arrested for driving stolen car | Police fire

A 36-year-old Arnold woman was arrested after officers found her driving a reported stolen car in St. Louis County. The woman was also wanted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on a warrant for drug-related activity, Arnold police reported.

On April 22 at approximately 5:25 p.m., officers stopped a 2018 Dodge Charger in the Walmart parking lot, 2201 Michigan Ave., because there was a warrant posted on the car, the report said.

While inspecting the Charger, an officer discovered that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plate on the dashboard was allegedly altered. According to the report, when the officer found the secondary VIN plate, he learned that the car had been reported stolen by St. Louis County Police.

The woman was arrested and taken to the police station, where she was held for extradition, the report said.

Arnold police will file charges against the woman with the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office on charges of first-degree tampering and altering the VIN of a vehicle, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher.
