Dog sexually abused at Nerul railway station in Mumbai, accused arrested

Mumbai, October 27: In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for sexually abusing a female dog at Nerul railway station complex. According to a Times of India report, animal rights activists in the city have been investigating this serious matter for over a week after the issue came to light through CCTV footage at the railway station complex.

It turned out that the accused was a day laborer and slept in the train station complex, which houses shops and restaurants. The defendant often stayed around late at night, drinking alcohol and then sexually abusing the dog. An FIR has been lodged against the 65-year-old man under Section 377 of the IPC and Section 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. This is reportedly the second animal abuse case since Powai-based dog Noorie was raped at Galleria Mall and an 11-inch rod was recovered from her genital area.
