6-year-old boy from Carthage dies in boating accident on Table Rock Lake

TANEY COUNTY, Missouri – A 6-year-old boy from Carthage died Friday morning on Table Rock Lake after being struck by a boat propeller.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol drowning report, the 6-year-old was riding on a kneeboard behind a motorboat in Clevenger Cove at 11:11 a.m. when he fell into the water.

As the motorboat reversed to return to the boy, he swam to the stern of the motorboat and was hit by the boat’s propeller.

The Taney County Deputy Coroner pronounced the victim dead. Next of kin have been notified of his death.
