Blount County man dies in car crash, police say

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – On Friday, the City of Oak Ridge announced that a Blount County man was killed in a car crash in Oak Ridge Thursday evening.

According to the police report, Oak Ridge Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of Lafayette Drive after receiving a call about an erratic driver at around 8:51 p.m. and an accident was reported just minutes later at 8:53 p.m.

When officers arrived at about 8:55 p.m., they began life-saving measures on a man identified as 34-year-old William F. Alldis of Louisville, Tennessee, according to the report. Oak Ridge Fire Department and Anderson County EMS were also on scene and assisted.

Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and Alldis was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. The investigation is ongoing and according to ORPD, no further information is being released at this time.
