Man killed in attack in southwest Oklahoma, no arrests

Police are investigating an attack that left a man dead in southwest Oklahoma City on Monday.

According to police, the victim was seriously injured and found in a shed behind a house. Police have not yet identified the victim but believe he was homeless.

Investigators are currently working to identify a suspect and said no one has been arrested yet.

Police were called to check on an assault reported just before 8 a.m. at a home near Southwest 29th Street and Western Avenue. Officers found the victim in a shed behind the home and took him to OU Medical Center in critical condition, but he did not survive.

“Investigators are not clear on what caused his death,” said Msgt. Gary Knight of the Oklahoma City Police Department. “We know he was involved in an altercation in which he sustained injuries that ultimately led to his death.”

As soon as the cause of death has been determined by the coroner, the police will release further information.
