Kentucky woman arrested and charged with drunk driving after fatal crash

A woman faces charges accused of killing a Louisville man in a collision Sunday night.

SPENCER COUNTY, Ky. — A Nelson County woman is facing charges accused of killing a Louisville man in a car crash Sunday night.

At around 5 p.m., Kentucky State Police officers responded to a crash on U.S. 150 and Old Louisville Road in Spencer County, according to a KSP news release.

Investigators believe Laurie Hahn, 49, of Bloomfield, Kentucky, was driving a GMC Acadia eastbound on U.S. 150 when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, identified as James Foster, 52, of Louisville, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bullitt County Coroner’s Office.

Hahn was arrested and booked into the Shelby County Detention Center.

Laurie Hahn is accused of the following:

  • Homicide by vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Driving a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Failure to fasten seat belt
  • Disregarding the right of way of oncoming vehicles
  • Reckless driving
  • Failure of the owner to maintain insurance
  • First degree assault

The investigation is being carried out by KSP officers.
